The Berlin Painter (active ca. 490–460s BC), named after an amphora now in Berlin, is widely regarded as among the most talented artists of his time. None of his vases were signed, but his distinctive style is readily recognizable. He usually focused on one central figure painted in meticulous detail.

Thermoluminescence test results by CIRAM laboratory in France.
