An ancient Greek marble relief from a funerary lekythos depicting a bearded man and youth facing left, each wearing himations that fall from the left shoulder, their names are inscribed above, “Phokian,” and “Nikokokles.”


Ca. 380 – 360 BC.

Height: 11 1/2 in. (29.2 cm).

Formerly in a Swedish private collection; Sotheby’s, New York, December 17, 1998, lot 330, subsequently in a Rhode Island private collection.
