A group of seven miniature bronze votive helmets of Celtic type with knobbed tops and cheek pieces.
Ca. 5th – 3rd century BC.
Miniature helmets have been found as votive offerings in sanctuaries from the 7th Century BC onwards. They likely represent the gear of defeated adversaries. There is an Etruscan votive model of a gladiatorial helmet in the British Museum, acc. no. 1772,0303.15, and another Greek example, acc. no. 1772,0303.14.
