An ancient Attic Greek red-figure column krater by the Nausicaa Painter; on each side are two young horsemen riding to the right; each holding a spear, with chlamys cloaks around their shoulders, and petasoi hanging down their backs.

Ca. 460 – 440 BC.
The Athenian red-figure vase painter now known as the Nausicaa Painter is named after the subject of an amphora he painted, now in Munich, showing Odysseus and Nausicaa. He is considered a major vase painter of the mid-5th century BC. Very many vases have been attributed to his hand on the basis of style.
Formerly a Belgian private collection.
