Etruscan Bucchero Kyathos

An ancient Etruscan bucchero kyathos with the cup on a high, flaring foot, the strap handle rises high above the rim, the apex of the handle adorned with a Janus-faced baboon wearing a conical hat; the body decorated with relief frieze of buds alternating, an incised zig-zag band framed by lines on exterior of the lip. Two incised lines on the interior of lip, with an applique head of a man where handle joins the rim.
