A Pre-Columbian Vicus gold nose ornament and tweezers made of a folded oblong sheet of gold with soldered filigree spirals. Peru, Vicus, north coast, Ca. 300 BC - 300 AD. Width: 6 in. (15.1 cm). Weight: 36.5 gm. Intact. Tweezers were Pre-Columbian Andean status implements fabricated in copper, silver and gold, with gold reserved for the highest level of status. Formerly in a French private collection.
