Egyptian Painted Linen Fragment
An ancient Egyptian fragment of painted linen from a mummy wrapping depicting two black jackals facing each other, representing Anubis, each with a flail a solar disk between. Late Period, Ca. 700 - 30 BC. Length: 5 1/4 in. (13.5 cm). Formerly in the Rolf Heynen collection, Germany, prior to 1960 with old collection label indicating it is from Thebes.
