Old Babylonian Hematite Cylinder Seal

An ancient Old Babylonian hematite cylinder seal depicting two suppliants in long robes approach a god with scimitar raised and holding a burning torch; behind him an upside down figure likely carved to fill the space reserved for inscription.

Old Babylonian Period.
Ca. 1900 - 1600 BC.
Height: 7/8 in. (2 cm).
In modern gold finger ring mount.
