A Pre-Columbian carved gray volcanic stone hacha depicting a jaguar head with a large raised central head crest, deeply recessed round eyes, and open mouth. Veracruz, Mexico Ca. 600 - 900 AD. Height: 7 3/8 in. (18.7 cm). Formerly in a Canadian private collection; previously in an Israeli private collection, acquired in the 1960s.
