Roman Bronze Phallic Amulet

An ancient Roman bronze phallic bridle ornament or pendant amulet, with the characteristic phallic shape on one side, and a closed hand on the other (mano fica). At the center, a schematic male genitals with a round suspension loop over it.

Ca. 1st - 2nd century AD.
Length: 2 1/4 in. (5.5 cm).
Intact.

Formerly in an American private collection.
