Greek Terracotta Head of a Woman
An ancient Hellenistic Greek terracotta head of a young woman with exceptionally modeled delicate features, her head turned to her right, with 'rings of Venus' around her long neck, and her hair drawn up in braids under a fillet and bound by a high topknot.
Ca. 4th - 2nd century BC.
Formerly in the collection of Dr. Anton Pestalozzi (1915 - 2007), Zurich, Switzerland; acquired from Fortuna, Galerie fur alte Kunst, Basel, 1987.
