Luristan Bronze Sword

An ancient Luristan bronze sword with a long tapering doubled edged blade with a prominent mid-rib with multiple fullers. The tang is set within an elaborate quadrangular openwork grip terminating with a cone shaped pommel.

Ca. 1500 - 800 BC.
Length: 22 in. (55.9 cm).
Formerly in the J. S. collection, Pennsylvania, acquired in 2012; previously in a European private collection.
