An ancient Old Babylonian hematite cylinder seal depicting a male figure with a sickle leading a goat and carrying a second smaller animal, as he approaches two draped standing figures. A crescent moon, sun and star above. Old Babylonian Period. Ca. 1900-1600 BC. Height: 3/4 in. (1.9 cm). Intact. Cf. Metropolitan Museum of Art, inv. no. 1986.311.38. Formerly in the M.
