Attic Greek White-Ground Lekythos

An ancient Attic Greek white-ground lekythos with a central palmette design bounded by a maeander decoration above and zig-zag and grid patterns below.

Athens, Attica.
500-450 BC.
Height: 8 5/8 in. (22 cm).

The lekythos was used to hold olive oil in antiquity and was often left as a grave offering.
