Jerusalem, year 16 of Tiberius' reign (LIS) = 29/30 AD.

Pontius Pilate was the procurator (governor) of Judea under whose command Jesus Christ was crucified in ca. 30 AD. He was recalled to Rome after Tiberius' death. Eusebius relates that he later committed suicide.
