A British Paleolithic knapped flint tool with an overall tan-brown surface patina.

Ca. 150,000 BC.
Length: 3 3/8 in. (8.6 cm).

The tool is marked with a black painted site location: "Hammersmith," an area west of London where prehistoric sites have been found.

Formerly in the Forbes collection, Maryland.
