Egyptian Bronze Shabti of Iay

An ancient Egyptian bronze shabti. The mummiform figure wears a tripartite wig, his crossed hands hold agricultral implements. A column of hieroglyphic text on the front preserves the name of the owner, "the Osiris, Iay".

Third Intermediate Period.
Dynasty 21-25, ca. 1070-712 BC.
Height: 3 1/4 in. (8.3 cm).
Intact.
