Five ancient Egyptian faience amulets in the form of falcons, all are pierced for suspension.

Late Period, ca. 700-30 BC.
Max. height: 19 mm.

The falcon was a symbol of the Egyptian sky-god Horus. Horus was the primary deity of the ancient Egyptian pantheon, and the pharaoh was viewed as the living manifestation of this god.

Formerly in an American private collection.
