A Pre-Columbian Sinu high karat solid gold finger ring with capped ends and burnished finish.

Ca. 700-1000 AD.
Diameter: 1 1/4 in. (3.3 cm), wt.: 16.4 gm.

The gold industry of the northern Colombian highlands was highly developed. They produced many small intricately made ornaments of personal adornment often depicting caciques or chieftains with zoomorphic attributes.

Formerly in a New York private collection.
