An ancient Athenian black-figure lekythos of slender form with a scene of Dionysos reclining with a Maenad before him and satyrs at each side.

Athens, Attica.
Ca. 525 - 500 BC.
Height: 9 1/2 in. (24 cm).

The lekythos was used to hold olive oil in antiquity and was often left as a grave offering.

Formerly in a New York private collection.
