Thessaly, Larissa, ca. 430- 410 BC.

With its acropolis dominating the Pelagoitis plain, Larissa was the principal city of Thessaly. It was the first city in the area to mint coinage. The descendants of Aleuas of the Heraclid Dynasty ruled the city from as early as the 7th century BC. In the classical period, Thessaly was renowned for its horsemen.
