Cypriot Bichrome Chalice
An ancient Cypriot drinking cup on a low foot, with upturned loop handles set close to the body, and bands of geometric decoration in black slip and added red.
Ca. 750-600 BC.
Bichrome ware originated in early Iron Age Phoenicia and spread to Cyprus where it became for a time the dominant pottery style.
