Silver tetradrachm, 22 mm, 15.22 gm. Obverse: E- Bee. Reverse: Date palm to left; forepart of stag facing right; I N to right. Ca. 390-325 BC. Ephesos, a city in Ionian Anatolia, was famed for the Temple of Artemis (ca. 550 BC), one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. The bee, date palm and stag were all sacred to the virgin goddess, Artemis.
