Cypriot Bichrome Amphora

An ancient Archaic Cypriot large bichrome ware amphora painted with horizontal bands of black and ochre over the cream colored slip.

Cypro-Archaic I; Bichrome IV Ware.
Ca. 750-600 BC.
Height: 21 3/4 in. (55 cm).
Intact.

Bichrome ware originated in early Iron Age Phoenicia and spread to Cyprus where it became for a time the dominant pottery style.
