Greek Marble Head of a Kore

An ancient Greek Pentelic marble head of a Kore, or maiden. Her wavy locks of hair are combed back beneath a stephane made of three flat overlapping ears of grain.

Athens.
Ca. 460-440 BC.
Height: 8 1/2 in. (21.5 cm).
