Obv: Forepart of lion right, head reverted.
Rev: Stellate pattern in incuse square.

Late 6th-early 5th century BC.

Miletos on the western coast of Anatolia was among the wealthiest Greek cities. It established over 90 colonial settlements overseas. At times it came under Persian rule and was ultimately freed by the siege of Alexander the Great.
