Egyptian Faience Shu Amulet
An ancient Egyptian green faience amulet of the god Shu, kneeling with arms raised to support the Sun. Saite Period, 26th Dynasty, Ca. 664 - 525 BC. Height: 1 in. (2.5 cm). Shu is a primordial Egyptian god personifying the air (a cool, calm influence). Shu was tasked with separating Nut (sky) and Geb (earth). cf.: C.
